“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined” – Henry David Thoreau
“First, have a definite, clear, practical ideal; a goal, an objective. Second, have the necessary means to achieve your ends; wisdom, money, materials, and methods. Third, adjust all your means to that end” – Aristotle
“We are all here for some special reason. Stop being a prisoner of your past. Become the architect of your future” – Robin Sharma
For years people have asked, "What would you like to do for the rest of your life?" For years my answer remained unchanging, "I want to experience everything." I simply didn't want to choose. I didn't think I should have to. In return I received doubt and disbelief. They assumed I was too indecisive to make a definitive answer. I suppose no one ever imagined I'd find anything like it. Or they summed me up to be a dreamer with my head in the clouds. And here I am... I'll let you decide.
Hello there!
My name is Olivia Wharton. I am the founder and funder of Wharton Virtual Services. If I were to narrow down the five most important values and principles we hold at Wharton Virtual, as well as coinciding with my own, our code of Ethics and Integrity would be the fundamental foundation. This begins with honesty, to be forthright with anything and everything; holding standards of trust and respect; maintaining honor in personal character, using judgment skills, and morals; this is all the basis of our code of Ethics and Integrity. Without it there would be no trust or faith. In this line of work it is imperative to sustain trust and respect and a moral code.
Along with this, we have our core value of ever-growing determination for life-long learning and education. It is said, Dedicating one's self to studies and the prospects of acquiring new knowledge is a skill, one to never be undervalued. It is both exhilarating and humbling to recognize the boundlessness of opportunities awaiting for you, to learn from a multitude of resources including one's peers.
Another core value we hold is the motivation for self-discipline. This essential skill and practice provides the acknowledgement of one's limits, to learn to work with them, rather than against them. It is the action of being decisive and have good judgment, using management skills and delegation. It's imparitve in this world that we do not squander, nor take for granted the limited time we have. Being able to give your full attention to one process will not only ensure efficiency of time and efforts, but also accuracy and relief.
Similarly, the core value of familial and communal relationships cannot be set aside, nor can it be taken for granted. Compassion, connection, and a want for quality of life, these lives we live are unknowing of what the future holds, for ourselves and our loved ones. It is crucial to make the most of the time you are gifted. Because it is just that. A gift. And the best gift of all is to spend it with the ones you love.
As well as this however, it is important to remember moderation. A value often overlooked by others, yet the most understated of all. Balance and understanding is a fundamental foundation of every aspect of life, and it is often overused for cliche while not often utilized enough when thoroughly understood. It is said that "All good things come from moderation." I believe this to be true in its entirety. People whom stem in greed will never be satisfied, nor will happiness come easy. People whom give until they have nothing left, will soon be left with nothing to give. Oftentimes, people can forget that abundance can be just as detrimental as scarcity can. An example of this can be food, family time, work, even self care. In increasingly large quantities food can damage your health. Without enough food, the same could be said. Too much family time can leave you feeling drained and in need of some alone time. However, not enough can leave you sad and missing your loved ones. An ever-growing abundance of work will kill your motivation and take away your joy. Similarly, excessive self-care can leave one with the qualities of selfishness, conceded actions, and ultimately make them undependable. Meanwhile, a deficit of time taken to self-care will hurt your mind, your body, your creativity and motivation. Understanding this is an essential key for success. Finding the middle ground entails honing skills of good judgment, rationality, and using foresight and anticipation. All of this contributing to a healthier and happier lifestyle.
I started this business with the principles and values for success. To provide for others whilst I provide for myself and my family. I enjoy my work because of a healthy balance in wants, needs, comforts and lifestyle. I enjoy my life because of my strong familial values and my principles of ethics and integrity. I enjoy my business because of my determination and discipline as well as my desire for knowledge and education. In the end, I won't have any regrets.
Eyes stagger open in the darkness of the night. After jolting awake, a sense of urgency cascades in with a crashing wave of stress. What time is it? A bright screen of light fills the room. A headache bursts, throbbing with an aching pain all throughout the mind. Glancing to the time, I wince, and a realization shouts throughout my body - It's late enough - as dimness washes over once more. Though sleep was far off now, a raging need for rest crowded the nerves surrounding my muscles, my bones, and my mind. Thoughts of stress and second guessing flood into the brain involuntarily, wondering if that appointment was confirmed, or if the filing had been done. Did I call the supplier? What time was my meeting tomorrow morning? Did I forget to send that invoice? I still haven't created any new content for my marketing... There is always too much to do. As it is, I feel like I'm missing my daughter grow up. Too consumed lately with work. Between the management aspect, the customer service response, the financial tracking, the time taken up with actual service provided, there always seems to be a never-ending list of high priority tasks. That pile of papers sitting on the desk. How long have they been there? A week? A month? Maybe two? Maybe more? My family has been so supportive since I started the business, but it seems like the load of to-dos is endless for them as well.
I think I need help... But I don't know where to start. Where to start looking, what to look for, credentials I guess? But there are too many options. You can't even really know a person until they work with you. What if I make the wrong choice? Will it cost me everything? Stress closes in, strangling the grasp on thought.
From that moment on, hours of sleep will be lost. Worry will have set in. The workload had not gotten any slimmer. The family had not gotten any more quality time. The files are still sitting on the desk. And the bones, mind, and muscles had not gotten any rest.

Good Question! A VA can help with a variety of tasks that otherwise take up lots of space in your brain, daily task list, and add to mental fatigue. Hiring a VA can allow you to free up time for the MOST important duties and obligations Inside and Outside of your business. There is often much "busy-work" to be done when running a business-- often boring too, and being able to delegate some of these tasks, can be so beneficial in many different ways, including more freedom for creative thought, more quality family time, more self improvement, and in-turn improvements for your business.
Here are a few benefits that come along with hiring a virtual assistant:
- They work directly with you, for you, to better your business. If your business succeeds, they benefit!
- They care about your business and work-life balance. They are your teammate, and as such they want you to be the best you can be. A team is only as strong as its least strong member. They can be a support system.
- Hiring a virtual assistant allows more time in your day, week and year. Say you were to hire a VA for 10 hours each week. By the end of the year, you would have saved 520 hours to work on priority tasks for your business. Time is something you never get back.
- You get to stop doing dreadful tasks that you don't enjoy. Simple as that.
- Save on staffing costs and mental load. VAs provide their own benefits like healthcare, dental, etc. They take care of their own taxes, meaning you don't have any liability for taking out taxes, social security, and so on. They are contract based, so you can only pay for services when they are needed. Lower turnover! Say goodbye to endless pesky interviews. You also save on staff environmental expenses and materials.
- They can help your business Gain higher productivity and efficiency. Tasks are getting done twice as fast, and you get to sit back and be confident to have a professional taking care of your business running logistics
- They give you the gift of accountability. We all have those days where we don't feel like getting work done. Maybe there is a moment in your past or future where the motivation just isn't quite there. Maybe for a few days, a week, or two. Regardless. Having a VA will keep you accountable, but will also provide a confidant to rely on should an emergency arrive.
Particular to myself and our working hours at Wharton Virtual, office and communication hours will be Monday - Saturday 5am to 8pm. However you are welcome to reach out at anytime and we may get back to you within working hours. :)
Yes! We encourage people to ask about services that may be unlisted on our website. The world around us is always changing, and our VAs are doing the best they can to pinpoint their skills and abilities, yet sometimes, you as the client need something, and none of the choices on our website seem to fit just right. And that is okay! Because we are and have the abilities of so much more and we need you to ask. The services listed above are the more commonplace, meaning our skills are more experienced in these dimensions. However, we always encourage inquiry and there are two main reasons for this. Firstly, it allows us the opportunity to offer skills and services that we may be in the process of mastering, at a discounted rate. This would allow us to gain some experience, work closely with the client to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and execution of this service precisely as the client intended it to be done.
Secondly, this inquiry would provide an opportunity to the virtual assistant to expand their skillset. This would mean, gaining education for certifications or more extensive classes for the particular subject, allowing for research into this skillset and networking to others for advice and market research.
It is time to hire a VA when you can answer 2 or more of these questions with yes.
- Are you feeling overwhelmed?
- Would you feel most comfortable with help from a Professional?
- Can you afford a VA financially?
- Would an accountability buddy provide you support?
- Are you feeling consumed by your business?
- Do you feel like your joy for the work is diminishing?
- Has your family and your business been competing for your attention?
- Are you spending too much time on administrative tasks?
A VA is a virtual assistant. A virtual assistant is an individual who specializes in assistive services for businesses, business owners and other clientele, working remotely or from a home-based location. Usually your VA will be self-employed working as a freelancer, however there are companies who hire VAs to them match them up with jobs as a more consistent approach.
Many will hire a virtual assistant to take on tasks that need to be done and can be delegated. Most often, when running a business, time is a scarcity. Because of this, necessities, such as family life, personal care, creative inspiration, motivation, etc, can be brushed aside. Hiring a VA allows for the joy and opportunity for inspiration to return to your work. It can allow for more time to enjoy owning and cultivating your business, rather than spending all your time on tasks and Responsibilities you dread.
We price on a case by case basis depending on time estimation for project completion, Resources used to accommodate, new clientele and revolving clientele, Promotional opportunities, project urgency, and time availability for the project time frame.
Our Clientele is primarily small business owners and individuals looking for entrepreneurial opportunities.
VAs differ from employees for many reasons. Firstly, VAs are considered contractors, which means; Employee benefits are unneeded, staff work environment is unneeded, your virtual assistant is tax deductible, you receive an invoice to pay rather than curating a payroll, and you can hire a VA on a contractual and conditional basis leaving funds available during slower seasons.
Secondly, VAs have more versatile professional skills, as well as a more extensive work history, a multitude of references, and will consistently put in 100% effort because they want the chance to work with you again.
Lastly, VAs can work independently, lightening your mental load because their active communication allows you to trust and relax, rather than micromanage a staff member.
Overall, a virtual assistantwould provide their own resources, work as a team with excellent management skills, are responsible for their own pay, taxes, and benefits, and give you a moment of relief to rely on a trusted member for any task no matter how small or insignificant it may seem.
Firstly, A freelance virtual assistant works solely for themselves and their clientele. They work independently on a contractual and case-by-case basis, whereas, a virtual assistant working for a company will work remotely but not independently, employed to a company.
Never miss a chance for an offer!
